He was one of the soldiers from Windham that marched to Saratoga against Burgoyne. He returned to Windham in 1780, where he married, and then moved to Hillsborough, and afterwards Antrim.1 John McCoy married Margaret Boyd circa 1780.1 John McCoy died on 9 January 1823 at Antrim, Hillsboro, New Hampshire, USA, at age 72.1
